This is Maggie's best friend Peggy Fleming played by Joan Cusack. Peggy helps Maggie cope through the movie. Magge being a very mysterious young girl looks to her friend Peggy for advice and lots of fun. Peggy doesn't really have an impact on Richard Gere in the movie but mostly just helps out Maggie and is there for support.
